Momentous day, in a way. Couldn't have imagined I'd be watching
a close relative's eye surgery as it took place - no, not in
the O.T. but from an adjoining room, on a tv monitor that was
recording each procedure. Dr. Ashok Shroff is one of the best
ophthalmic surgeons in India, with impeccable credentials. It
was a privilege watching him operate with such elegance and
lightness of touch. His fingers moved like a graceful dancer's
in a well choreographed sequence that dazzled me. ME!!!!! Someone
who is so squeamish about injections and needles. I am seriously
needle- phobic and close my eyes when someone is getting an
injection - even if that is on the screen. And here I was paying
such close attention to Dr. Shroff''s every move ( magnified,
of course, and doubly scarey). Now that I know I won't faint
at the sight of an eye when a cataract is being pulverised before
getting it sucked out , I'll be able to handle myself less hysterically
while donating blood. Playing peeping
tom was an awesome experience on one level. Sure. I shed a
small bit of my earlier phobia.Do I want a replay?? Hell,
no!! Even this was far too upclose and personal for my taste.

Of course you have wide experience in terms of eye treatments
as a whole and research, which I used to tell people about
it. For example, some of the guys that I came with for the
first time in 1991, and by the way it was the first time to
me coming to India where some people were about to take us
to different doctor since I was not having Ashok Shroff's
card, those guys who have been operated for eye cataract are
still preserving the same vision till now. This is a real
example which I used to tell people, not for the sake of business
but it is a truth which cannot be denied.Today, I received
a call from someone having some eyes problems and seeking
for treatment in your hospital. I asked them to give me the
case report so that you can have some thought about it.

The surgery of Dr. Anand was so clean and expert. You will
not believe but my mother was not ready for her right eye
operation after her bad experience of left eye surgery with
an inexperience doctor in 2005 that took about 55 minutes
and after 1 year she even loss her vision. She is a diabetic
and blood pressure patient and I was scare to find the Best
Doctor
in India.
I sent email to 12 Famous Eye Specialists of Mumbai on 29/07/2008,
Got just a single reply from Dr.Safala (Shroff Eye Clinic),
visited Dr.Rahul Shroff with reference to the email, Knew
all details with an appointment of Dr.Ashok Shroff for 31/7/08
and got surgery appointment with Dr.Anand Shroff for 01/08/2008.
She admitted at 08:45, entered in Operation Complex
by 10:00 am and came out healthy and happily at 10:15 am.
AMAZINGLY.
We finalized a package of Rs.39000/- for an advanced lenses
but during operation Dr.Anand found her other eye with a different
lenses and he used the same type and refunded us Rs.11000/-
by cheque with Discharge. So Honest Attitude !
During the treatment, hospitality, surgery, appointments,
accounts procedures and all other communication we feel we
are not in India. The infrastructure and environment along
with the extra ordinary hospitality made a pleasant reatment.
Shroffs are THE BEST.
This time, we were lucky to get a professional eye clinic
and a perfect Dr.Anand for her right eye and immediately after
surgery she stated.. I happily came out without any pain..
without a long time.....so I am ready for another surgery
with Dr.Anand Shroff if I would have third eye !
My mother is in best of hands and soon she will have 'Opened
her eyes to a whole new World!"

I
had developed recently a cataract in my left eye and then
into the right eye. It had developed so quickly that I was
almost unable to see anything even with magnifying glasses.
I heard of a recent development in the treatment
of cataract in USA but implanting a multifocal lens in the
eye to replace the bad one. |
In the USA it takes long time to get appointment with a good
center plus it is not conventiently located near by apart
from being very expensive.
I found a center in Mumbai, Shroff Eye Hospital, India imported
the same technology and has practiced it on over 500 cases
at a very reasonable cost and conveniently located at 2.5
hours far from Dubai by air and in a high clas area of Bombay.
I contacted the center and fixed an appointment
and travelled accordingly.
First eye surgery was done after one day of
simple exams and the second eye surgery was performed only
4 days afterwords
What amazed me was the speed of the proceedure
which was done in 20 minutes only and while I was chating
with the surgeon he said ...operation finished.
Immediately after one hour, I left to my room
in the hotel and next day bandages were removed and start
enjoying the supervision sight permenantly
Cost of surgery with the same technology as
well experienced surgeon is just 8% of the cost of the same
surgery in USA.
I am now back in Dubai and preparing for my
summer vacation with my family to LosAngeles July 1st till
Aug 19th

I am a fellow
in Cardiology in University of Louisville. I had visited many
centers in US for my LASIK procedure but I was not satisfied
with any of the doctors I had met here in US. I think the
LASIK procedure, which Dr. Anand does is far far better than
any of the centers in US. I got my LASIK done by Dr. Anand
and his team in the first week of May 2006. My experience
with the team was excellent. Before going for my LASIK, I
