Shroff Eye has a splendid library with archives. Journals, text books and Proceedings from Conferences dating back to the 1940's are housed along with the latest Journals from India and abroad, including the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Highlights of Ophthalmology, Survey of Ophthalmology, Ophthalmic Clinics of North America, the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology, etc. These also aid research studies.
Also found in the library are the over 500 text books dealing with General Ophthalmology, and mainly with all super-speciality fields such as Retina, Glaucoma, Cataract, LASIK, Strabismus, Contact lenses, Neuro-ophthalmology, Oculoplastics, Vitreous surgery, Ophthalmic pathology and pharmacology etc. Many international atlases of Ophthalmology have been included to provide illustrative examples of ophthalmic diseases and the latest surgical techniques as are books on Eye Banking.
The archives have preserved slides involving the history and growth of Ophthalmology from the 1960's to the present day. The pride of Shroff Eye is its Retina slide collection; the Fluorescein Angiography collection and the Anterior Segment slide collection. The perimetry [computerized visual field analysis] collection is also very vast, involving rare Neuro-ophthalmology, Glaucoma and Retina field patterns. All these collections are presently being converted into the digital format to aid in teaching ophthalmologists and students.
