Long Sight

Hyperopia

Hyperopia is also called farsightedness (far-sightedness), long-sightedness (longsightedness) or hypermetropia.

It is a common vision defect in which the individual has difficulty focusing on near objects.

The vision imperfection is usually caused by an eyeball that is too short, or a lens that is not round enough, probably because the cornea is too flat.

Many very young children are hyperopic because they have small eyeball, but their hyperopia decreases as their eyeball grows larger with time.

In adults hyperopia is not as common as myopia.

Hyperopia can be corrected with spectacles or contact lenses.

Other permanent ways to treat hyperopia include refractive surgery options such as LASIK, Epi-LASIK and implantable contact lenses (ICL).

With our laser we can treat hyperopia up to +6.00 D safely.
